The 27th Southeast Asian Games will be held in Myanmar thus sports authorities and officials mobilized around 12,000 volunteers to provide assistance in communication in this special event, said Myanmar local media.
Myanmar, being the host of the 27th SEA Games on December 2013 will be held in three main cities namely Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, said Chinese News Agency Xinhua, citing the Flower News.
Sports authorities have set qualifications for the applicants who will serve as volunteers to be between ages 18 to 30 years old, applicable to both male and female. They must have to pass qualifying examinations and are able to speak fluently the English, Malaysian and Thai languages, the report said.
There will be four training courses scheduled for all the volunteers. But the first set of training course is scheduled on January 24-31as announced by the Ministry of Sports.
Deadline for the submission of applicants will be on the 16th of January, the report said.
After undergoing the training course, they are required to undertake practices on various international sports tournament in Myanmar so as to familiarize themselves on different sport activities.
During the closing ceremony of the 26th SEA Games, it was Myanmar who got the sports flag of the SEA Games which signifies that they will be the next host country for the next SEA Games.
The SEA Games is one of the most popular sports competitions for the entire Southeast Asian countries which are held every two years which began in 1959.
Notwithstanding the fact that Myanmar has hosted two times in the SEA Games in the year 1961 and 1969. Myanmar bagged first with a total of 104 medals and149 medals respectively.
They believe that every time they are the host of SEA Games they come out as the grand winners.
Myanmar is doing her best to come up with a successful performance to be able to meet and surpass the expectations on this coming 27th SEA games and to add another triumph on their country being the host.
